Singing is about more than producing notes.
It’s about bringing something to life – a character, a story and, at its best, a moment that touches the audience!
With his distinctive, resonant voice and keen sense of musical interpretation, Quirin Scholz is embarking on a versatile career as a singer. Trained with the Regensburger Domspatzen and at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, he performs internationally on both the opera and concert stage.
His repertoire spans music from the Baroque through the Classical and Romantic periods to contemporary works and world premieres, encompassing major operatic roles as well as a wide range of concert repertoire. Above all, he is fascinated by the immediate interplay between voice, character and audience.
His passion for singing has accompanied him since childhood: at the age of six, he decided that he wanted to become a singer – a dream that has stayed with him ever since.
He began his musical training with the Regensburger Domspatzen. As a member of the renowned boys’ choir with its long-standing tradition, he gained early experience in professional concert performance, took on solo assignments, and learned to combine musical precision, expressive treatment of the text, and compelling stage presence. These formative early experiences continue to shape his approach to music to this day.
Quirin Scholz is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Tijl Faveyts. He has also received significant artistic training from Ralf Lukas, Gundula Hintz, Wolfram Rieger, Christian Schmidt-Timmermann, and Daniel Ochoa. He is additionally supported through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship programme.
His concert tours have already taken Quirin Scholz to numerous countries across Europe and to the United States, with his artistic interests encompassing both opera and concert repertoire.
On the operatic stage, he has appeared as Sarastro in The Magic Flute and as Frank in Die Fledermaus. In the German premiere of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s David et Jonathas, he sang the role of Achis.
In the concert repertoire, Quirin Scholz places particular emphasis on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The bass-baritone is especially sought after as an interpreter of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. His musical partners to date have included renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Orchestra of Musikalische Komödie Leipzig, the Kammerakademie Potsdam, and Ensemble Quillo.
In the 2026/27 season, Quirin Scholz will expand his operatic repertoire with several significant roles. In Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, he makes his role debuts as the Priest and the Badger, as well as Harašta. At the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater, he will also make his house and role debut as the Hermit Der Freischütz.
Alongside musical versatility, it is above all the direct connection between voice, character, and audience that fascinates Quirin Scholz. Guided by curiosity and a spirit of discovery, his artistic journey takes him through a repertoire shaped not only by the great works of the operatic and concert repertoire – from the Baroque and Classical periods to Romanticism – but also by his engagement with world premieres, contemporary music, and lesser-known works.

Singing is the most intimate expression of who I am. Whoever hears me sing also hears what lies deepest within me – my very soul.
A voice’s depth is measured not by its pitch, but by its power of expression.
